At this year’s BMF [British Motorcyclists Federation] Show (15-16 May), BMW Motorrad UK is offering riders a chance to book demo ride-outs on the latest BMW bikes including the new R 1200 boxer-twin range and the brand new S 1000 RR*.

The annual Peterborough based show, is the largest outdoor motorcycling event in Europe attracting thousands of motorcyclists every year. This year the show will celebrate its 50 anniversary and promises to open in style with brand new features and attractions. th

Not only will there be hundreds of trade stalls covering all aspects of motorcycling, there will also be entertainment from the likes of Jason Smyth – The Adrenaline Tour, Moped Enduro, Short track racing, The Stanage International stunt display team and the Cavalcade of Clubs. In the evening, music fans can enjoy live music from Stingray, Trash Monkey, Hooker and headline acts, Boot Led-Zeppelin and Killer Queen.

One of the main highlights of the show will be BMW’s first ever sports bike. Launched at the end of last year, the S 1000 RR is now the new star of the BMW range. The S 1000 RR has set a new benchmark in terms of riding dynamics, safety and innovation in the world of sports machinery and has become one of the country’s best selling bikes. Its power-to-weight ratio, optional Race ABS and DTC Dynamic Traction Control technologies, have all contributed to its ever growing popularity.

BMW staff will be on hand throughout the weekend offering in depth technical advice on the host of new, up-rated touring and enduro models, including the R 1200 RT Tourer and the R 1200 GS and GS Adventure. These have been updated with the new Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) version of the boxer twin engine, giving additional torque across the rev range.

Along with the range of bikes, BMW’s 2010 rider clothing collection will be on show and will include the new DoubleR range of sports gear designed to match the S 1000 RR.
